Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
I'm forever blowing bubbles,

Pretty bubbles in the air,

They fly so high,

NEARLY reach the sky,

THEN like my dreams,

They fade and die.

Fortune's always hiding,

I've looked everywhere,

I'm forever blowing bubbles,

Pretty bubbles in the air.

If you're not singing these lyrics, you're wrong.

Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
They're also the words that are sung on the recordings west ham have officially released. 1980 cup squad for example. Isn't that the version they still play at upton park.

So as far as I'm concerned it's NEARLY

Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
Not wanting to sound pedantic but you have posted the original words to the song -BUBBLES.

I do not consider them to be the appropriate words that consider the road that we have traveled or where we stand at this moment in our history.

Correct. There's nothing wrong with a decent short cut as long as you know the long way round just in case.

Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
What about the words that are missed out entirely?

I'm dreaming dreams,
I'm scheming schemes,
I'm building castles high.
They're born anew,
Their days are few,
Just like a sweet butterfly.
And as the daylight is dawning,
They come again in the morning.

Chorus
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die.
Fortune's always hiding,
I've looked everywhere,
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

Verse 2
When shadows creep,
When I'm asleep,
To lands of hope I stray.
Then at daybreak,
When I awake,
My bluebird flutters away.
Happiness new seemed so near me,
Happiness come forth and heal me.

Chorus
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams,
They fade and die.
Fortune's always hiding,
I've looked everywhere,
I'm forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
Herts Hammer, you are correct mate.

That's the version of Bubbles that my grandfather taught me to sing when he first started taking me to the Boleyn in 1958. All his mates that he used to stand with on the Chicken Run sung the same words too.

Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
Yeah.

If you changed the tune to something like "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" it would make it a different matter.

bruuuno 10:01 Mon Nov 3
Re: Enough. Learn the right words to bubbles.
I don't see what the problem is its like saying you have to pronounce HIGH instead of IGH, don't make the blind bit of difference the song is still the same.

If you added another chorus or changed the tune then it would be another matter.
